Consultants for Sustainable Development (TFF) has signed an agreement with the cooperative bank Pátria Takarékszövetkezet on February 28, 2012. As a result, the planned “Ökotakarék” banking products will be available soon. These Ökotakarék deposits and credits focus not only on financial profit, but also on the social and environmental benefits of the investments.

Reviews of the investment policies of international and Hungarian banks in aspect of sustainable development
The publication Banks in Focus assessed the investment rules of 49 major international banks and the 6 biggest-balance-sheet Hungarian banks (CIB, ERSTE, K&H, MKB, OTP, Raiffeisen) in the aspect of sustainable development. The policies of the banks has been evaluated by Banktrack.

Greenpoly – responsible household
The game Greenpoly – responsible household was just published in Hungarian language by Consultants for Sustainable Development. The goal of the game is to teach you how to utilize your environmental and social resources responsibly in a playful form.
The game reflects the social and environmental effects of our everyday life.
The financial management is part of our life therefore it plays an important role during the game as well.
Our whole economy is based on the financial system, and the financial and banking activities of the people is also part of it. Our financial decisions have social and environmental impacts.
The board game can be used in environmental education, the kids can seamlessly acquire the relevant knowledge during the game.
The game is recommended from the age of 7 and up!

Consultative Forum
On November 3rd 2010, fourteen organizations took part at our consultative forum where we presented the achievements of our project and discussed about the concept of setting up an ethical bank. We were interested in the opinion of the invited organizations. It was also our goal to start to work out the details of the ethical criteria and banking products in co-operation with these organizations.

Annuel general meeting of FEBEA
We have been invited to and taken part at the annual general meeting of FEBEA (European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks). The event was held on April 15-16th 2010. It was a great opportunity for us to meet some member groups of FEBEA and get to know the operational work of several European ethical and alternative banks.

Sustainable banks (!?), “Ökobank” project conference, January 22nd, 2010
What is the problem with the present banking system? The financial crises of the past months, along with the irresponsible credit policy of banks that lack any foresight has drawn attention to the flaws and the deficiencies of the banking system.
We were trying to find the answer to the question raised during the introduction words of our conference. Moreover, we have also offered a possible solution model for it.
